Some new activities are planned for the Hood River group in 2012, focusing on precepts study and Jukai, the ceremony for taking the precepts. This practice period will span from late January to early April, and there will be reading assignments and contemplative practices to do. See Calendar for dates.
"Taking the precepts is how one becomes a Buddhist, but does not involve a commitment to a particular temple, lineage, teacher, or even practice, other than striving to live in harmony with the precepts. That said, we take it seriously and it is a huge dharma gate." - Kakumyo
Regular Sunday sitting periods on the calendar remain open to all.
